Customising Your Baby Clothes

Posted in Clothing

What is it about babies that make us all blurt out words we never even knew existed, in languages we’ve never even heard? How come babies manage to make even the toughest man, start cooing and pulling faces in a desperate bid to launch a new born smile? We’ve all done it ourselves and we’ve all sat back and embarrassingly watched someone else do it too. Seeing babies tucked up in a miniature pair of denim dungarees, an all in one red Rudolph suit at Christmas or a pretty little pink dress and jacket during the summer time just seems to set our maternal and paternal instincts in to further overdrive. However adorable, cute clothing doesn’t have to contain a designer price tag. In an era where every penny counts, dressing our babies to a budget doesn’t have to mean plain, simple clothes.

Just as most young boys jump for joy when they are presented with a football shirt of their favourite team, complete with their name ironed on the back, customising clothing is a great way to make us feel individual. T-shirts, bibs and rompers for example are a great way for your baby or child to wear their own cute little slogans. Baby clothes can be customised by size, style, colour and of course the slogan you wish to add. Perhaps it’s a nickname you and the family have given your baby, a famous quote or an image of the babies favourite cartoon character. Or perhaps you’d like a photo of you and your baby printed on to your tots t-shirt or all in one romper. These are great ways to create an alternative image for your young one and let them stand out in the crowd.

Customising your baby clothes doesn’t have to mean lowering the quality of the clothing you dress them in. Respectable clothing companies will ensure your baby clothes are not just distinctive but also of the finest quality. They understand that baby clothes need to be practical but warm and comfortable also. With wide choice of designs to reflect your baby’s personality, you need to make sure the clothes have ease of movement, are easy to fasten, wash well and will withstand their everyday activities.

It’s always advisable to purchase a size a little larger than the baby currently requires allowing for growth and therefore allowing for the maximum use out of the clothing. Due to the speed at which babies do grow, many people like to hold off on spending too much on clothes for new-borns and young children however this doesn’t mean you can’t dress them in beautiful or fun outfits. In an era where everyone is making cutbacks, making sure you get good value for your money is important.

Babies come to us in all shapes and sizes and it’s always a good idea to check the size of the clothes you buy, rather than just by age. For example 0 to 12 months is often sold at a size up to 10.5 inches however of course your baby may differ from this and require a different size so always check this before you purchase to make sure it gets its maximum use.

Babies grow up so fast and it’s important to capture every moment of their development. By adding a little uniqueness into clothes gives children and babies a little extra special attention and an individual sense of style. Reducing the value of your baby clothes doesn’t have to mean reducing the quality.
